Take a listen!

I realize that most people reading this blog don't know what the Festingos actually sound like, or if they're even any good. So, now that we've got a decent understanding of the background of the band, it's time you actually heard some of our stuff. I hope you like it!

This is a link to our pure volume account. On it, you can find samples of our music, some fun pictures of the bandmates, and a few videos from live performances. Pretty much, this pure volume site is a cohesive definition of what we do and who we are. It should serve the public, i.e. you, in understanding what this blog is all about (and hopefully take care of Blog excercise 1 for this class). To hear Los Festingos is to know Los Festingos. Let me know what you think!

But who are the festingos?

There are exactly four members of Los Festingos. Tim Gould plays bass, Chris Ruffini plays drums, Buckminster Forest Kellorgg is the lead guitarist, and Sam Kwietniak(that's me!), the rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist. This blog post is going to introduce this crazy cast of characters, because who we are offers some insight into why we do whatever it is we do.

Timothy W. Gould:An avid environmentalist and llama enthusiast, Tim is the most down to earth of all the festingos. Often, he's the voice of reason in an environment littered with nonsense. Naturally easy going and non-confrontational, Tim plays the bass with an air of absolute relaxation and unshakable confidence.

Christopher Ruffini: Often hailed as the most lovable of the Festingos, Chris is a comedian with no boundaries. He lightens the mood in any situation, and always stands up forwhat he believes in. Mr. Ruffini's expert command of the drums is an asset to any band, and his loyalty is an even greater asset to any friendship.

Buckminster Forest Kellorgg: Truly a unique individual, Bucky is the token dark and mysterious member of Los Festingos. His quiet, introspective personality offers a grat balance to the louder, more outspoken members of the band. His selfless respect for others is almost as legendary as his mind melting solos.

Samuel Kwietniak: Charismatic and witty, Sam's a pretty good front man for Los Festingos. On stage, he's a wild and hilarious weirdo who commands the audience and the band with confidence and charm. Off stage, he's pretty much just a weirdo. Sam writes the words and music to most of the festingo original songs, and loves when he can inspire others through his creativity.

The only way the festingos could work is with this particular combination of people. Every member is integral....even the bassist...
We're all best friends, and we always will be.

A common definition of a Festingo is: One whom expands the musical universe through creative, humorous and often outrageous feats of harmonious excellence.
Basically Los Festingos is a band that sets out to have as much fun as possible. In this way, the music of Los Festingos speaks to all. Good-old-fashioned-unadulterated-no strings-attached laughter and happiness for all. Los Festingos know no musical boundaries. Stylistically, they play somewhere between anything and everything. You'll like them. I'm certain. They're pretty likable. Just give em a chance.
